FoodTruckEats at the grande Peller Estate May 20/21, 2012, offered Niagara a little bit of see and be seen, and a whole lot of tweeting and eating. Line ups were long, sun was hot, shade was lacking, but the scene was buzzing. Crowds of Toronto fashionistas in summer halters, panama hats and pleated short-shorts descended on Peller in droves eager to trade in concrete jungle curbside noshing for classic winery lounging. Also in hot pursuit of the fish taco were families with strollers, just-off-the-golf-coursers and local foodies, all harmoniously celebrating the coming of Niagara’s first FoodTruckEats. Line-ups ran 20-40 minutes, resulting in sophisticated purchasing strategies with food lovers waiting in different lines and reuniting at high top cruzers scattered throughout the Peller estate.
Trucks in attendance included: El Gastronomo, Toasted Tangerine, Capalansky’s Deli, Bonfire Catering, Portobello Burger, Gorilla Cheese,Gourmet Bitches, Buster’s Seacove, Hank Daddy’s BBQ, Tide and Vine, Cupcake Diner, BeaverTails Toronto, Shriners Creek, Dobro Jesti and Roaming Buffalo- making this the first bi-national FoodTruckEats.
