Rich in history, yet looking like a swish, new resort, the iconic, Trius Winery at Hillebrand is a star Niagara’s wine route.
In 1989 at Hillebrand Winery, (owned by Andrew Peller Ltd.), the Trius label was born, over 25 years ago. Trius Red was the first ever Canadian vintage to be recognized as the Best Red Wine in the World. Still loved it made an appearance at the gifting suite at the Oscars. Rick Vansickle heralds the passionate, Craig McDonald, Aussie-born winemaker, for giving Trius a life of its own, pushing the boundaries of his small-lot vintages by using wild fermentation and concrete fermenters.
Large crowds can be hosted here comfortably, while couples sip latest vintages over an intimate, structured tasting, in the Loft. Fine-dining in the restaurant, where picturesque views abound, offers five, or seven-course tasting menus. With a variety of vineyard experiences; House of Chards, Tasting Stars – Sparkling Experience, Best in Glass – Vineyard and Winery Tour, Trius is sure to excite.
