The Smokin’ Buddha

Eclectic, intoxicating, and quickly becoming one of Niagara’s hotspots. The Smokin’ Buddha offers a varied selection of favorite dishes from East Asian, Mexican, and South American cultures found nowhere else in one place.  Indian and Thai curries, fresh salads, Mexican burritos, Korean Beef Noodles, and Japanese gyoza keep the regulars coming back for more.

Bike clubs and theater-goers equally adore the laid-back-cool vibe and order Steam Whistle or Okanagan Pale Ale to complement their Pad Thai, or the perennial favourite-peanut chicken curry.  In the summer, bands play on the patio, the place is packed, and owner Kevin Echlin charms the crowd. When it rains, the inside fills up fast, and patrons vie for space with Xian warriors to witness the head-banded chefs dodging flames in the open-kitchen.  Reservations recommended

Dinner from $13-17.

Every Friday morning is special to me because of time spend at the market, usually in the company of my daughter and wonderful grandson.
The vendor’s displays are a delight for the senses. The Smokin’ Buddha is always a stop on my list for a piping hot samosa, and to say hi to Travis, Jake or Kevin.
