The De Moura Winery Way

After long and successful careers, husband and wife team decided to try their hand at owning a winery. Fred De Moura and his wife, Pik Ching Liew-De Moura, built everything about this winery with their own two hands, coming in from Toronto, every weekend to work.  Fred’s passion for wine comes from his father, Henrique Madeira, who owned a winery in Madeira, Portugal. A type of port is named after his family, to this very day.

Repeat visitors come often, as much to meet with Fred, as they do for more of his wine.  The world traveller loves to spin a yarn and pour you a glass of his robust, smoky Cabernet Sauvignon.  When I asked him if the toy trucks on the wine racks were for his grandkids, he laughed and said no, “I over-educated my kids.” He just likes his collections.

Tastings are free and include cheese and Portuguese crackers.
