Nestled in the vineyards in between acres of vineyards, Pondview’s low profile ranch exterior meets the horizon and beckons wine route travellers in with a homey appeal; a respite from the heat of the sun.
Luciano (Lou, winemaker) and Adriana Puglisi, owners of Pondview Winery, are proud of their Italian heritage and bring the experience of family gathering over wine to their guests. Originally from Sicily, Guiseppe Puglisi started the tradition of winemaking here, three generations ago in 1965. Lou, with Fred Di Profio, proudly carry the torch, creating a range of Bordeaux-style reds, award-winning Chardonnays, appassimento style wines, and ice wine.
Tastings are available by walking in, but you can enhance your experience with a Bella Terra (beautiful earth) tasting in the cellar room, which includes cheese and marinated Italian veggies. Book ahead for this one and bring a light jacket, the cellar is cool, even in the summer.
