One of the founding Niagara wineries to mark Niagara as a world-class wine region, winning the Grand Prix D’Honneur, Vinexpo France, 1991. This was the first establishment to attain a liquor license since the prohibition in 1927.
The winery is as rich and complex in its history as it is in the character of its wine. The property itself was a cottage built for an American family, by none other than Frank Lloyd Wright. If you are interested in the architecture; original beams and stained glass replicas, see Sylvie, she can give you an amazing tour. Ask about Riedel.
The staff is superb; capable of handling crowds, yet simultaneously able to make the experience feel specialized and intimate. Award-winning winemaker, Bruce Nicholson, returned to Niagara from the Okanagan after a twenty-year tenure with Jackson Triggs, but prefers “working with the good acidities here in Niagara”, the “potential is endless.”
