An Italian tradition that’s been in the family since Ma and Papa came to their new country Canada, the Colaneri family worked hard, persevered, and staked their claim on this 40 acre vineyard property. A show piece for impact, the massive winery and guest-complex transports you to an Italian piazza in Rome, complete with a bell tower and massive fountain.
Eight family members partnered in this venture; each represented with a unique label for their wines; Coraggioso, Virtuoso, Pensieri, Paese, Cavallone, Mistera, Visione, Unita, Stellucha. All of which feature an old-world Italian story or song through and renaissance-esque drawing. Family, tradition, roots; is what Colaneri stands for.
They are best known for producing wines in the Appassimento style of winemaking, where the grapes are dried in tobacco kilns and greenhouses. Hand-picked, hand-sorted and labour intensive; this method produces wines that are daringly full-bodied and aromatic, perfect for taking in the sweeping patio views of the far-reaching countryside and vineyard.
