Chateau Des Charmes

Manicured lawns, red roses and Scarlett O’Hara-esque foyers with spiral-staircases and big chandeliers architecturally define Chateau des Charmes.  You’ll want to put on a silk ball gown and go out on the lawn looking for the Queen of Hearts to play croquet with. The impressive wine tasting mansion marked the beginning of the visitor wine experience.

Fifth generation wine growers and winemakers, hailing from Alsace, France, the Bosc Family are legends and revolutionaries of the Niagara wine scene. Paul Bosc, in partnership with lawyer Rodger Gordon, founded Chateau Des Charmes, and were the first to plant vitas vinifera grape varieties in Canada. Earning the “Minister’s Award for Environmental Excellence” Paul Jr. is a leading innovator in the region, making a mark as a wine environmentalist and researcher.   Events such as the Earth & Sky Music Market are a fine time to visit; the monthly local gatherings notch down the formality and ramp up the wine-country fun.

Signature tasting flights $10/pp, with $5 credit towards wine purchase.
