Cafe Garibaldi

From Nonna’s balcony in Casalbordino, Italy, she could overlook the Piazza Garibaldi, and so the family, here in Canada, named their charming cafe in honour of her.  Lunch is casual, yet elegant, with healthy and hearty options; gourmet panini, pastas and lunch salads.  The minestrone starter warms up the toes, and leaves you eager for the moist, flavourful frittata, loaded with seasoned grilled veg.

Dinner goes upscale with grilled bison steak, lamp chops, and in house frutti di mare specialities; seafood bouillabaisse and risotto al mare in tomato cream. The luxurious details comfort and elevate moods; from the dessert case, to the linens, to the wainscotting, to the most beautiful bathrooms; classic style is consistent. Agostino’s kind, professional service lends continuity to the classic, old world European experience, not to mention the dapper vest and matching bow-tie.

$30 prix fixe menu Tuesday through Thursday. Savoy Room adjacent offering formal afternoon tea, with 24 hour reservation.

Dinner $16 – 35  Lunch $10 – 12
