Linda and Brian run this family fruit farm just a few kilometres from Lake Erie. Technically in Haldimand County, this farm is a well-respected Niagara favourite. Fields of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries are set on a 100 acre farm, and the experience is peaceful and comforting. Home-chefs with fruit pie aspirations can be seen picking cheerfully among the rows. A well organized pick-your-own system makes this an easy and educational stop for families, and the scent of fresh-baking lures kids into the bakery to decide between fresh pies, breads or butter-tarts. Moms pick up the low-sugar jams which are fruit-forward and addicting.
Blueberry Knoll can also be found at these local farmers markets: Port Colborne (Friday) and Welland (Saturday) and via Fehrhaven Farms on Hwy 3. Frozen berries, pies and breads are also available at the farm.
