Transport yourself to a lush, tropical oasis. Hot, humid air, tropical bush plants, and butterflies, flying all around you.
For tourists, it’s a unique attraction, but for locals, it’s a perfect place to escape to when the weather just won’t ever seem to warm up.
The Butterfly Conservatory is situated on the Botanical Gardens, taken care of by the Niagara Parks Commission. On a not-so-rainy day, it is definitely worth the effort to stroll around their beautiful manicured gardens. Horticulture aficionados will appreciate the quality and variety of gardens and plantings.
It’s a feast for the senses, with over 2000 butterflies freely flying around the space. There are 45 different species of butterflies, exotic flowers and full-sized trees growing amidst waterfalls and pools with turtles and fish.
The Butterfly Conservatory brings out the awe and wonder of nature that’s the kid in all of us.
