Kristlemas Market; a delightfully warm and spiritually rich day of celebrating all that is good about Christmas, Stratus, and artisanal Niagara. *This year’s market takes place on December 14, 2014. Organized by Lauren O-Malley of Gathering Niagara – in partnership with Stratus, the Kristlemas Market truly had something for everyone.
The Permtones- a Niagara fan favourite, set a jovial mood for guests against a backdrop of steel tanks, savoury shortbreads, YUMmy farm-fresh small-batch jams and root vegetable cake from Ravine Grocery. A selection of cookbooks, homemade soaps, cozy knitwear, and SOMA chocolate filled the foyer inside, while outside, guests had their culinary pick of Avella’s wood-fired oven pizza, Curbside Crepes, Food Man and Culture Boy’s pulled-pork, or spicy wings (and of course more) from El Gastronomo Vagabundo.
The winery’s tasting bar kept busy with aficionados searching for the perfect assemblage gift and Balzac’s Coffee tastefully kept revelers solid on their Sunday feet. Outside, Stratus’ signature fireside patio served up Smokes Poutinerie, Pingue sausage and Oast House beer to the older set, while younger ones, high on Lovin’ from the Oven cupcakes, were hosted skillfully in Martha Stewart-style ornament-making by none other than Ms. Jo_in_TO.
Without a doubt, the Elf-on-the-Shelf is giving Kriss Kringle a high-five on this one.
