The final event of a three day celebration of domestic and international cool climate chardonnays, “The Moveable Feast” sold out as fast as you can suck back an oyster. By popular vote, this roaming feast was an encore to the same event at Ravine Vineyard last year, likely establishing an annual tradition. Mingling among Ontario’s most exceptional producers, guests slowed down to reflect on the events of the week-end as they wrapped up the Cool Climate Chardonnay Celebration.
Under a tented afternoon summer sky, and surrounded by a bespoke-country setting, guests tasted 20 unique Chardonnays, lovingly described and hand-presented by the winemaker and passionate representatives. Designed by Chef Nathan Young, the suitably rustic menu included fire-pit-roasted meat, organic produce, artisan cheeses, cured meats, sweets, and the unforgettable, well-loved oysters, shucked fresh off the Tide and Vine Shuck Truck. It was an intimate, eclectic and relaxing affair. As Mike Di Caro, of Spotlight TO, so aptly described, it was a “perfect ending to a great weekend devoted to Burgundy’s cosmopolitan gift to the wine world”.
